The Sony ECM-XYST1M Stereo Microphone is compatible with a variety of cameras, including Handycam camcorders, Cyber-Shot cameras, Alpha/NEX cameras, and any other camera with a Sony Multi Interface Shoe. This convenient feature allows for direct audio transfer to your camera, eliminating the need for additional cables. However, for cameras without a Multi Interface Shoe, the microphone can be connected to the mic input using a provided stereo mini-jack cable. Additionally, you can manually adjust the directional angle of the mic capsules from 0° to 120°, allowing for custom audio capture in any setting. Plus, a windscreen is included to reduce wind noise pickup and enhance audio quality.
