The Blackmagic Studio Converter turns SDI video, audio and camera control into a single optical fibre run, letting studio cameras sit up to 2km from the production truck without a cable-run headache.
Running SDI, tally, talkback and camera control as separate cables to a remote camera position gets heavy and unreliable over distance. The Studio Converter combines all of it — 12G-SDI camera feed, 3 independent HD return feeds, PTZ and camera control, dual-channel talkback, tracker talkback and tally — onto a single SMPTE hybrid fibre connection, with a 5-inch LCD on the unit for monitoring camera and return feeds on site. A Universal Rack Shelf (sold separately) racks up to three converters in 1RU.
